Do you know how to make the truths of heaven a reality on Earth? The Bible probably has over one thousand promises in it. The reason you’re still here on this earth is so that you can live out every one of them. If God just wanted you to get saved so that you would go to heaven, He would snatch you and everyone else out of the world as soon as we got born again. As you can see, that hasn’t happened yet. The hope of heaven is not all that there is to this life. I want you to recognize that God’s plan is for you to experience His promises here on earth! There is a way.
Here are three points to consider in helping you make the truths of heaven a reality on earth:
1. Remember your Creator
In Genesis 1:27, you will find the old familiar verse that says, “God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” Now, don’t just gloss over that. We were created to operate like our Creator—God. Since that’s the case, then we can look at the creation verses in the first chapter of Genesis to see how we should act. How did He create the entire universe? By His words! If you were created in His likeness and image, and He placed that much value on what He spoke, then just how important is it to also recognize the power of your words?
2. Recognize the power of your words
There are so many scriptures that express the importance of what you say. For instance, Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Your words are so powerful that they can change the atmosphere. If you take a look at Romans 10:9–10, you will see that you have to confess with your mouth to even be saved! I am laying the foundation of just how important your words are so that you can recognize their true power. Jesus said that by your words you will be justified or you will be condemned (Matt. 12:37). If they aren’t already, it’s high time to get your words aligned with the Bible.
3. Confess what the Word of God says
Psalm 119:89 tells us that the Word has been eternally settled in heaven. God’s promises toward you are already yes and amen (2 Cor. 1:20). All things that pertain to life and godliness belong to you in Christ (2 Pet. 1:3)! Everything that God has promised is an absolute truth in the spiritual realm, but how do you get these truths from the heavenly realm into yours? Just like salvation, every promise was provided two thousand years ago at Calvary. You have to find what is written in the Word of God, believe it in your heart, and confess with your mouth (Mark 11:23) to experience it in your life.
Sadly, many Christians are still struggling and lacking in many areas of life even though they believe the Word of God is true. Mental assent is not the same thing as believing in your heart. Believing in your heart goes deeper because it’s something that comes from within and is not just a fleeting thought in your mind. So much religion today is based upon intellect rather than on spiritual truths.
The Bible says very clearly that the natural man, meaning our natural thinking, cannot comprehend the things of God. Those things must be spiritually discerned. Your believing for all that God wants to give you in this life has to come from deep within you. It cannot be something you know in your mind but do not believe in your heart. You need to exercise your believing by meditating on the Word of God. Then, to activate the promises, you must then confess with your mouth (Rom. 10:9).
The problem we face today is that many believers are not applying these principles that I have shared with you to see their desired results. But here is the good news: you do not have to be one of them!
